Study on Performers’ Rights

In 2007, AEPO-ARTIS commissioned and published a study entitled “Performers' Rights in European Legislation: Situation and Elements for Improvement”. The study provides an overview of performers’ rights and assesses the impact of some of the main legal provisions affecting performers’ rights and the collective management thereof. It examines the extent to which they have had an impact on the current situation of performers, identifies certain unsatisfactory measures and makes proposals for improving the lives of performers today. Among other things, the study highlighted the lack of money that performers received in respect of on demand use.

Since the publication of the initial study, AEPO-ARTIS has released a further four updated versions of the study.
