On 27 November, IPF organised HARMONIA25, a conference to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. The event brought together representatives from the national and international networks our Slovenian member is a part of to share the years of active collaboration with their members and Slovenian policy makers. Opening speeches were given by IPF’s birthday director Viljem Hribar, Karin Zvokelj (Director Slovenian. IPO), Agnieszka Horak de Sousa (IFPI) and Ioan Kaes (AEPO-ARTIS). During four different panels there was some looking back at 25 years of IPF, but even more looking ahead at what role collective management can and should play for rights holders. And here we saw several AEPO-ARTIS members passing by. |
Natália Škvareninová (SLOVGRAM) and Markus Bos (SENA) discussed the impact of different CJEU rulings on the practice of collective management. Kristina Delfin Kanceljak (HUZIP) and Ioan Kaes (AEPO-ARTIS) dug deeper into the ways collective management organisations use cultural funding to support local artist communities.
Reflecting on the anniversary, the Managing Director of IPF, Viljem Marjan Hribar, underlined the importance of long-term international cooperation: “Twenty-five years of IPF are the result of trust, cooperation and shared responsibility. From the very beginning, international partnerships have been essential to ensuring that Slovenian performers and producers are effectively protected both at home and abroad. As we continue to evolve and respond to new challenges of the digital environment, international integration remains at the very heart of who we are.”
And as in any music company, the conference was of course concluded with some live music.
We wish them all the best for the next 25 years.
