AIPA Celebrates 15 Years of Trust and Collaboration

AIPA, our Slovenian member and joint-organisation for audiovisual performers, authors and producers, marked its 15th anniversary with a ceremonial event and international conference held at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, on 23 October 2025.

The event, titled “A Story of Trust – Shaping Legal Frameworks and Future Challenges,” brought together distinguished domestic and international experts in copyright law and the audiovisual industry.

Among the keynote speakers and panellists were renowned professionals including Dr. Mihály Ficsor, Dr. Silke von Lewinski, Cécile Despringre (SAA), Dr. Igor Gliha, José-Mariá Montes (AISGE), and Dr. Robert Kordić. Participants discussed the impact of digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and streaming platforms on the rights of audiovisual authors and performers.

AIPA Director Gregor Štibernik highlighted the organisation’s growth and significance within the Slovenian audiovisual landscape: “From a visionary initiative that began with almost no resources fifteen years ago, AIPA has evolved into a trusted hub of collaboration and dialogue between creators, users, and institutions. Today, we collect over eight million euros annually, protect more than 1.100 rights holders, and manage 21 categories of audiovisual rights, with additional rights currently under negotiation.”

Several more events dedicated to celebrating AIPA’s 15th anniversary are planned for the remainder of this year and into 2026.

We congratulate AIPA on its  15th anniversary and wish many more successful years of defending performers’ rights.
