The Music 360 Project evolves around the professional utilisation of background music in various settings like shops, bars, restaurants, sports clubs, and more. Background music isn’t just ambiance; it’s a crucial element enhancing customer experience, defining brand identity, and ultimately, driving revenue. Surprisingly, background music, including live performances, contributes significantly to royalties for artists, more than streaming platforms. However, the existing system of royalty distribution poses challenges.The work that has been undertaken provides the first comprehensive and evidence-based insight into the value of the public performance of music.
